In the 2000s and 2010s, I curated many contemporary art shows in museums and galleries. In the 2020s I pivoted to digital curatorial practices.
I worked with Inforg Studio in 2020, and repurposed highlights of their visual legacy into an immersive, virtual exhibition using Walter’s Cube technology.
In 2021, I started working on developing visual AI tools, which enable curators and artists to move forward with their projects in a faster pace.
This experimentation led me to launch Animatr.ai, a tech startup that enables users to turn monolingual text into multilingual animated content. I became an alumna of The Founder Institute’s Silicon Valley-Toronto Program in 2022, exhibited at Collision Toronto, and my company was selected as one of the 100 most high-impact Canadian tech start-ups, as a member of Waterloo’s AC Studio Accelerator Program.
One of my services today is supporting the digital transformation of museums and archives. I partner with cultural institutions to explore and expand the boundaries of what is possible with merging "old collections" with emerging new technologies.
As an expert in digital curatorial practices, I help identify opportunities for repurposing existing content and assets in cultural institutions. In other words, I help to build 21th century platforms of engagement and technology.
My work as a consultant begins with an audit where I conduct interviews with stakeholders, review the digital solutions in place and go through the collections of the institution. Next, I provide a SWOT-analysis for the leadership of the institution, and present strategy recommendations. Finally, I help define possible pilot projects and a roadmap for introducing new digital practices in curating the collection.
